The Hearts of Athletes Study

Studying the impact of COVID-19 on the heart muscles of athletes.

For young adults, student athletes, and others without known cardiovascular disease, the true incidence of the heart’s involvement after COVID-19 infection and how often it is detected through different cardiac testing procedures is not known. This has led to different testing programs and return to athletics around the United States.

The Hearts of Athletes study is being conducted to determine the heart’s involvement with COVID-19 in athletes. The study is looking at athletes with and without a diagnosis of COVID-19. We hope the information we gather from this study will help provide more information around the national conversations about returning to activity after COVID-19.

What's Involved?

While you are participating in the study, we’ll ask you to complete a brief survey about any COVID-19 symptoms and your health for 30 days via an app downloaded to your iPhone.

As part of this study, you may be eligible for a cardiovascular work up, if one has not already been completed.
